The Reverend Grant Storms, a Christian fundamentalist pastor known for his campaigns against New Orleans' gay Southern Decadence festival, has been arrested for masturbating in a public park in front of children.

The Times-Picayune reports: Storms

Storms, 53, 2304 Green Acres Road, Metairie, was booked with obscenity, a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office arrest report said.

Storms told deputies that he was merely having lunch at Lafreniere Park, 3000 Downs Blvd., in his van when he decided to relieve himself using a bottle instead of using the restroom, an incident report said.

But two witnesses said they say Storms through the open windows of his van masturbating himself while watching children on the playground, the report said.

The two women flagged down a park employee who notified the Sheriff's Office. The employee also detained Storms until deputies arrived.

Bond for Storms was orginially set at $5000 but he was released early because of overcrowding at the jail.

The T-P adds: "Armed with bullhorns, Bibles and picket signs, Storms and a group of followers in 2003 protested against Southern Decadence, the gay three-day festival held over Labor Day weekend in the French Quarter. Storms' efforts prompted the New Orleans City Council to ban megaphones and other amplification devices."

This is so disappointing.

"A proposed mural depicting the LGBT history of Polk Street may never be painted due to objections from neighbors," the Bay Area Reporter relays. "The mural is a joint project of the Lower Polk Neighbors and the Mayor's Office of Economic and Workforce Development, intended to instill local pride while beautifying a blank wall on the side of Hemlock Alley. … [Neighborhood artists Helen Bayly and Aaron Bo Heimlich] consulted with the GLBT Historical Society, and incorporated actual incidents of police harassment, as well as tributes to social service organizations and their clients. … Reaction from LPN members was decidedly hostile." What was wrong with the mural? They were trying to put it somewhere besides the Castro, the city's historical gay district. "The Castro has such a monopoly on being 'the gay neighborhood' when really, there are gay and straight people in … neighborhoods throughout the city," says Heimlich. "Polk Street was a hub for people being able to go someplace where they were accepted before the Castro."

Maria Fischer, a designer from Germany, created a book named named "Traumgedanken" ("Thoughts on dreams") that contains theories, ideas and insight into the world of dreaming.

With the use of thread sewn throughout the book, she connects words and underlines keywords (hyperlinks) to guide the reader through the beautiful chaos.

To ease the access to the elusive topic, the book is designed as a model of a dream about dreaming. Analogue to a dream, where pieces of reality are assembled to build a story, it brings different text excerpts together. They are connected by threads which tie in with certain key words. The threads visualise the confusion and fragileness of dreams.
